NEW JAIL

I know that many believed that Allen Parish would never get a new jail complex and that it has been on and off again for over a decade.  However, I am pleased and excited to announce that at 2 pm today, November 15th,  I accepted the bid from Trahan Construction to build our new jail.  As soon as the contracts are completed and signed, construction will begin on the new and much needed Allen Parish Jail. Construction time is expected to be 12 to 14 months.

I would be remiss to not mention the hard work that everybody put in to make this happen in such a short time period. It has been an absolute pleasure working with all of the Police Jurymen and PJ Administrative Staff.  Both Marla Richard and Colleen Sonnier never hesitated to get what ever information needed when we were crunching the numbers.  And thanks also to District Attorney Todd Nesom and his staff for their assistance on the numerous phone calls I made to him especially when we were drafting the lease agreement.

There have been a lot of long hours to make this a reality.  It has been my honor to have been a part of it.

ICE Victims Notifications

A new feature for the public will be added to the website. Working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, we will make it possible to access a web link for you to access a Victim Notification system through Homeland Security Investigations which will give you a form to fill out. This form will allow the HSI  to contact you a victim or witness in order to receive notification of a criminal alien's release from one of their facilities. Victims and witnesses are required to register with HSI in order to receive these notifications.
